The Lesson

Feelings tell you what's happening inside you. They don't always tell you what's happening outside you. Fear can be protective — or it can be an old scar reacting to something new. Hope can be honest — or it can be wishful thinking dressed up as certainty.

Discernment is the practice of letting an emotion inform you without letting it decide for you.
